| The Rural Health & Safety Committee's major goal is to ensure the safety of those working and living on the farm by keeping you up to date on the ever changing regulations related to you and your workforce. In order to do this we hold numerous trainings throughout the year to keep you informed on these issues and to keep you in compliance with these laws. Some of the trainings held in past years include Heat Illness Prevention Training, CPR/First Aid, Implements of Husbandry, Hazardous Materials Transport, and many more. One major event we host is a Safety Fair for the 4-H and FFA exhibitors at the San Joaquin County Fair. This event trains the participants on safety issues related to living on the farm, including animal safety, water safety, chemical safety and much more. We have hosted 80+ kids each year in this hour long event. In addition to safety trainings, this committee has coordinated the Waste Tire recycling event. Although this event can’t happen every year, we work closely with the San Joaquin County Solid Waste Department to make this event possible when funding becomes available. For more information on this event please visit our Waste Tires page. Check back often for updates on upcoming trainings. Also, we will Farm Team these events as they become available, so sign up today to receive these notices in your email.
